Selah Morgans was founded in 1999 and there are Morgans with the "Selah" prefix across the U.S, and as far away as Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, and Canada. We enjoy sharing our enthusiasm and love of the breed with newcomers, other breeders or owners. If you are new to the Morgan breed we'd love to introduce you the tradition that perpetuated the best of the Morgans historic past!
We are in our senior years and slowing down on breeding Morgan horses. If we have any horses for sale or anticipated foals, they can be found here.
Our breeding philosophy - There are many facets to consider in the art of breeding horses. This includes genetics (pedigrees) and this is only "one tool in the toolbox" that we use in planning a mating.
The sire and dam should also be excellent examples of the Morgan breed that will produce a foal that is an improvement. The real "magic" to a successful breeding program is in knowing when to introduce genetic diversity (hybrid vigor) and it is also a practice that has proven to be quite successful for centuries for sport, performance and horse racing.
There is no bad color when it comes to a Morgan horse and because we breed such small numbers, our passion is to produce exotic colors with the potential for splash. However, color is never more important than exceptional quality individuals.
